I am a representational artist working primarily in soft pastels with a painterly approach.  Whether I am working on a portrait or a still life. I try to capture not just a likeness but also, and perhaps more importantly, an essence and expressiveness.  I try to entice the viewers with just enough suggestion of the story behind what they see, so that they stay a bit longer and ponder.
