Statement
Figure drawing is relatively new to me, prior work has been mostly still life, landscapes and limited portraiture. Joining the NODG has encouraged me to explore this area of painting/drawing. Although representing the figure can be challenging(hands and feet, quick gesture sketches, relationship to setting, etc) it has been a time of discovery and growth! The weekly sessions in addition to working with live models have offered: guest speakers, open discussions, sharing of members’ work- an enriching mix! This creative collective of artists has inspired me to continue to experiment with media and techniques and even share my work publicly!
