Statement

Drawing with the New Orleans Drawing Group has been a pleasure and provides educational opportunities as well. I have been drawing with the group for over a year, love drawing portraits and work very diligently to get a good likeness of the model. I use drawing media that provides quick renderings. I usually use bright colors when I feel I have enough time to finish the drawing, and sometimes use graphite or charcoal when I feel rushed for time. I have used watercolor, gouache, Tombow dual brush pens,  colored pencils, and graphite to create my drawings on watercolor paper or mixed media papers. When I am not drawing portraits and figures I am an acrylic painter. While taking walks in the forests of the local metroparks, I take photographs of the trees and wildflowers and then paint landscapes and flowers. I have also made collages from papers I have painted, and have done acrylic paint pouring. I have given workshops on paint pouring and monoprinting on a gelatin plate.
